LANdu was founded in 2019 by a group of friends in West Melbourne with a passion for reviving the classic LAN party experience. Recognizing the lack of LAN events in their area, they came together to create an inclusive, nostalgic
gaming community where people could connect, play games and have fun.
In its early days, LANdu quickly gained popularity among gamers in the west side of Melbourne who were eager to experience the thrill of competitive gaming in a LAN setting. The group’s events quickly grew in popularity, offering both PC and console gaming competitions. Attendees could also expect to see new tech and games on display via demo kiosks and sponsored exhibits, making each event a showcase of the latest and greatest in the gaming world.
Our mission is to bring back the good old LAN feel from the 1990s and early 2000s and create a fun, friendly and family-inclusive gaming community. We want to connect gamers of all ages, help them make new friends, and get the younger generation involved in the world of gaming.
Let’s get together, game on, and make some memories!
A LAN party is a gathering of people who bring their computers or gaming consoles to play multiplayer video games together. Attendees can expect a fun, interactive and social atmosphere where they can play their favorite games with friends and make new ones.
At LANdu, we aim to bring back the classic LAN party feel from the 1990s and early 2000s with a mix of old-school and recent games. We will offer a variety of games, including first-person shooters, strategy games, and more, on both PC and console platforms.
In addition to gaming, we will also have various activities and competitions to keep attendees entertained and engaged. These can include tournaments, trivia games, and other fun challenges designed to bring the community together and create new connections. With a focus on being family-inclusive, we also encourage young children to attend and get involved in the gaming community.
