FAQ

What is LANdu?

LAN down under (LANdu) is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN party. We aim to be Melbourne’s largest, memorable and most of all enjoyable LAN party.

We have secured a venue that allow access to over 500 attendees with plenty of room for various sponsor and demo booths. We strive to be more than just a computer LAN. We will offer PC and Console gaming competitions with the addition of showcasing new tech and games via our sponsors and demo kiosks.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring the following:

  • A computer (with the games you wish to play installed and updated)
  • Network card (so you can join the network)
  • Monitor, Keyboard & Mouse, Display cables
  • Headphones/Headset
  • Money (for parking, food and drinks)

Please don’t bring the following:

  • Speakers (Please use a headset for audio)
  • Appliances (Fridge, coffee machines, kettles)
  • UPS equipment
  • Multi-Monitor setups, televisions or 35″+ monitors
  • Network and Power Cables (we provide these)
  • Alcohol (this is an all ages event)

What does the event cost?

The event will cost $30 per player for all access (Bring Your Own PC + Competitions + Console Competitions + Event Access).

This cost provides you with a space to setup your computer, access to our power and network and entry to all competitions and raffles.

You have the alternate option of purchasing a Console entry ticket which only gives you access to the Nintendo/PS4 competitions and prizes (as well as door prizes) but you will not be able to bring a PC or participate in the PC competitions.

Console only entry will cost $20.

Spectator/Cosplay only entry will cost $5.

When can I register for the event?

Registrations are now live. We are running our ticket registration via smash.gg.

Please create an account (or use an existing one) at smash.gg and then register for our event.

Early bird pricing will be in effect until the 20th of July 2019.

Will I be able to register on the day?

Yes, subject to ticket availability.

Can I book/reserve seats?

Please contact the LANdu admin team at [email protected] or on our discord channel to arrange seating. Note that all participants must have paid to be able to reserve their seat.

Seating can also be arranged on the day. We will ensure that all Teams/Clans and friends will be able to sit together.

What time does the event begin?

The doors will open from 9am on the Saturday. The first couple of hours will be primarily used for sign in and finalising competition enrolments and times. Events/competitions will start from midday Saturday as by this time most people should be setup ready to play.

How long does the event run for?
